Our Certifications

As parents, we’ve stood in the nursery aisle, reading fine print and wondering which promises to believe. It’s why we created Sage & Wild — and why we chose certifications that don’t rely on marketing language, but on real, global accountability. Because when it comes to our children, “safe” should never be subjective.

GOTS: Certified Organic Textiles You Can Trust

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world’s most respected certification for organic fabrics. It ensures that every fiber we use — from how it’s grown to how it’s finished — meets strict standards for health, safety, and sustainability.

That means no harmful pesticides in the fields, and no toxic dyes, bleaches, or chemical coatings during processing. It also requires safe working conditions, fair treatment of workers, and responsible water use — including treating and recycling wastewater to prevent pollution.

Importantly, every supplier in the chain — from farm to final product — is regularly audited to ensure compliance. So when you see the GOTS label on a Sage & Wild rug, you can trust it’s not just a claim — it’s been independently verified at every step.

Why it matters for you: You’re not just choosing something labeled “organic.” You’re choosing a rug that’s truly non-toxic, ethically made, and safe for your child and home. It’s proof — not just a promise.

Description
RWS: Responsible Wool from Start to Finish

The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) ensures that the wool in our rugs comes from farms that treat animals and the environment with care. It protects sheep from inhumane practices and supports land management that helps preserve soil health and biodiversity.

But RWS goes beyond the farm. It requires that every stage of the supply chain — from shearing to spinning to weaving — is independently audited to ensure the wool is fully traceable and the standards are upheld all the way to the finished rug.

Why it matters for you: With an RWS-certified rug, you’re not just choosing natural wool — you’re choosing wool that’s been ethically sourced, responsibly processed, and transparently traced. It’s comfort you can feel good about, inside and out.
