Products
What materials are your rugs made from?
Our rugs are crafted from 100% Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified New Zealand wool and 100% Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton. Whether you're looking for a durable wool area rug or a lightweight cotton rug, our designs are created with safety, sustainability, and families in mind.
Are your rugs washable?
Yes, all our rugs are fully machine washable for your convenience. Each washable rug is crafted with premium materials—either wool or cotton—ensuring they are not only easy to care for but also safe and durable for homes with children. Because let's face it, life with kids is wonderfully messy, and we’ve got you covered!
Are your rugs handmade?
Yes, every wool rug and cotton rug is meticulously handcrafted in India using traditional techniques. This artisanal process ensures exceptional quality and attention to detail, making each area rug a unique addition to your home. Each rug tells a story—and it’s one that’s as warm and inviting as your home.
Do the rug sizes vary due to the handmade process?
Due to the handmade nature of our area rugs, there may be slight size variations, typically within 1-2 inches. These subtle differences highlight the artisanal craftsmanship of each wool and cotton rug. Consider them tiny marks of personality that make your rug truly one of a kind.
Are your rugs treated with any spill-repellent coatings or flame retardants?
No, our washable wool rugs and cotton rugs are not treated with any spill-repellent coatings or flame retardants. We use 100% natural and organic materials to ensure our rugs are safe for children and pets. Wool is naturally flame-retardant, providing an added layer of safety without the need for chemical treatments. Who needs extra chemicals when nature has already done the job?
How do I choose between a wool rug and a cotton rug?
Choosing between a wool rug and a cotton rug depends on your family’s needs. Wool rugs are plush, durable, and naturally flame-retardant, making them ideal for high-traffic areas or play spaces for children. Cotton rugs are soft, lightweight, and easy to maintain, perfect for casual spaces or areas where you want a breathable, washable rug. Both are made with families and children in mind, using 100% natural and organic materials. Whichever you choose, rest assured you’re picking a rug designed to handle life’s joyful chaos.
Wash and Care
Are all your rugs machine washable?
Yes, all our area rugs, including wool rugs and cotton rugs, are designed to be machine washable. This makes them perfect for busy households, especially those with children. Because who has time for dry cleaning when you’ve got little ones running around?
What type of detergent should I use?
We recommend using a mild, eco-friendly detergent for your washable wool or cotton rug. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners to preserve the natural fibers and ensure your rug remains safe for children. Think gentle care for a rug that’s built to last!
Will the rugs lose color after washing?
No, our washable area rugs are designed to retain their vibrant colors even after multiple washes. Whether you choose a wool rug or a cotton rug, the natural dyes used are long-lasting and safe for children. Bright colors and clean spaces? Yes, please!
Do I need a rug pad?
We highly recommend using a rug pad to provide additional stability, prevent slipping, and prolong the durability of your washable area rug. It’s like giving your rug a best friend to help it stay in place.
Is it normal for the rug to release fluff?
Yes, it is normal for our rugs to release some fluff initially. Crafted from 100% natural materials using an artisanal, handwoven process, cotton or wool fibers may remain trapped in the weave. Regular vacuuming during the first few weeks and brushing gently in the direction of the nap will help manage this. Fluff today, smooth tomorrow!
Is it normal for the rug to shed?
Yes, initial shedding is normal for both wool and cotton rugs due to their natural fibers. Regular vacuuming and brushing gently in the nap’s direction will help reduce shedding over time. This is a characteristic of high-quality, handcrafted rugs. Think of it as your rug settling into its new home!
